Me descobri fotógrafa em 2000, quando fiz o primeiro curso de fotografia analógica a convite de uma amiga, e, durante alguns anos, ela foi meu hobby, minha paixão, meu escape.
Experimentei de tudo: pinhole, processos alternativos de impressão, horas de laboratório e muita brincadeira com o processo fotográfico. Fiz outros cursos, estudei mais, participei de exposições e produzi livremente, até que a fotografia virou meu trabalho. Meu meio de vida.
Naturalmente, tudo mudou. Tenho um ofício que amo, mas trabalho está atrelado a resultado financeiro, responsabilidades, demanda estética do mercado e ao próprio cansaço que ele impõe. Senti necessidade de, nas horas livres, brincar de outras coisas; diferente do trabalho. Nesse processo, perdi meu hobby.
Até que, em 2021, resolvi dar uma chance à fotografia com celular. De forma livre e menos exigente. Mergulhei, aprendi, testei e me encantei. Para melhorar a brincadeira, juntei a essa atividade duas outras paixões: a corrida e o Rio de Janeiro.
Corro cedo. Celular sempre comigo. Já não sei mais se para correr, para fotografar a cidade ou as duas coisas juntas.
Pratico corrida há muitos anos, mas essa necessidade de sair ao ar livre e ver a cidade se intensificou durante a pandemia. Corrida + música me levam para outro tempo e lugar. Vez ou outra paro para fotografar. Ou vou correndo até a minha foto? Não sei dizer.
Essa primeira série, MAR, é uma declaração de amor a essas duas atividades e a cidade que escolhi como minha.
I discovered myself as a photographer in 2000, when I took the first analog photography course at the invitation of a friend, and for a few years it was my hobby, my passion, my escape from tension.
I tried everything: pinhole, alternative printing processes, hours in the film lab and lots of fun with the photographic process. I attended other courses, studied more, participated in exhibitions and produced freely, until photography became my job. My way of life.
Naturally, everything changed. I have a job that I love, but work is linked to financial results, responsibilities, the aesthetic demand of the market and the fatigue that it imposes. I felt the need to try different things when I wasn’t working as I had lost my hobby within the process.
In 2021, I decided to give mobile photography a chance. Less demands and no strings attached, I dived deeply, learned, tried and became passionate about it. In addition to the fun, I added two other passions to this: running and Rio de Janeiro.
I run early in the morning. I always take my phone with me. I don't know whether I take it to run, to photograph the city or both.
I've been running for many years. However, this urge to get outside and see the city has been more intense during the pandemic. Running and music take me to a different time and place. Every now and then, I stop to take pictures. Or I run towards my photo? I can't say.
This is my first series, named “MAR” (Ocean), which is a love declaration to these two activities and the city I chose to live in.
